A message from our wonderful PTSO
We are so blessed to have the wonderful teachers and staff that we have at Greenfield Elementary!!! Next week, May 6-10, is TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK! We are excited for the chance to say "thank you," to this wonderful group for loving our children. BUT, we can not do it without your help. Please think of ways that you can help your child show the staff, and their teacher, how much they are appreciated!
The theme for teacher and staff appreciation week is UP...
"Thank you for lifting us UP!""
The daily themes are listed below with a simple idea for that day. Of course, any other ideas you may have for the staff are also welcome and appreciated. Just remember, notes and kind words go a long way with the staff and teachers.
- Monday, May 6th - "Cheer UP" - Example: Have your child wear cheery colors and write a note to their teacher of ways they have "cheered" them up.
- Tuesday, May 7th - "Giddy UP" - Example: Help "round up" needed school supplies.
- Wednesday, May 8th - "Spice it UP" - Example: Perhaps a gift card to their favorite Mexican restaurant.
- Thursday, May 9th - "Rise UP" - Example: Have your child write out a list of ways that their teacher has helped them to "Rise Up."
- Friday, May 10th - "Fill UP" - Example: A gift card to a gas station so they can "fill up" their tank.
Thank you,
PTSO

Looking Ahead: Info for Sixth Grade 2019-2020
Hi almost-sixth-grade families! To help prepare for the upcoming school year, we wanted to share some information with you. Sixth Grade has changed the dates for Gator Camp (formerly Science Camp) and we want you to know early so you can plan. Our new dates are October 2 - 4, 2019. This is the week before Fall Break. We leave on Wednesday, October 2 and return on Friday, October 4, at about 12:00, noon. This leads right into Fall Break. Time for all to rest, relax and recover.
Our second field trip will be to the Arizona Renaissance Festival in the spring. The students enjoy this trip and learn a bit more about aspects of life in the middle ages. Huzzah!
Another experience in sixth grade to look forward to is changing classes. Students will have different teachers for Math, ELA, and Science and Social Studies. This is an exciting experience for students as they get to know all of the sixth grade teachers. It also helps prepare them for junior high in an environment where they are familiar and comfortable with making these transitions.
The sixth grade teachers are looking forward to meeting you and having a great year with an outstanding group of Gators!
