Year 2 Visit to the National Railway Museum

What a contrast to the planned date last term, when Year 2's trip to the National Railway Museum had to be postponed due to snow! They enjoyed a bright, sunny day which included a chance to get outside as well as a good look around the museum combined with workshops.

Last term's learning journey theme was 'What is the best way to travel?' and today was a fabulous opportunity to reinforce their knowledge and understanding of the invention of the train. They took part in two workshops 'Stephenson's Rocket' and 'Punch and Judy's railway adventure'. They even had a ride on the miniature railway.

Mrs Beckett sends thanks to all the parents and volunteers who came along to help.

Do you need a Guinea Pig or Rabbit Hutch?

We have started clearing the area we are planning to develop to increase our outdoor education provision. The fundraising focus for the Friends this year is to equip this area. We have an Eglu hutch, suitable for rabbits or guinea pigs, which we no longer need. If you would like it in return for a donation towards the Friends' efforts, please ask at the school office.

MESSAGE FROM THE FRIENDS

Hello sun and welcome to the Summer Term! We hope you all had a lovely Easter break and are now looking forward to a warmer and busy term!

Books, books. books Our first event is the Book Fair next week; Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th April. The books will be on display in the playground from 3 to 3.30pm. Books are competitively priced and the event gives commission to spend on new books for the reading raffle. Please support this if you can (also, if anyone can help to set up on Thursday, please let us know).

Ice Cream Friday Back next Friday - we will be selling lollies and ice cream from 3pm every Friday until the end of term.
