Meet the Specials' Team
at Stewart's Creek Elementary
Music: Mrs. Hudson
Welcome back Marvelous Musicians! I am your child’s music teacher. We are back together again for the 14th year at Stewart’s Creek! Wow! I have actually been teaching for 20 years. I love music and I love your kids so that makes for a winning combination. We study all the musical elements for your child to be prepared to continue their musical studies in middle school and high school and go on to be professional musicians, if they so choose. We prepare a PTA program for each grade level and I set up fine arts field trips for all the grades. Thank you so much for sharing your precious commodity with me.
Art: Mrs. Hill
Hello! I am the new Art Teacher! I have over 10 years of professional experience working with children and have 3 children of my own. I am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of your children as they learn all about art. In every lesson, I include a study of a famous artist and style of art, a discussion, of a particular element and principle of art, as well as demonstrating the “how to’s” of an art project. Did you know that the study and practice of the Fine Arts develops the right side of the brain, which increases the ability to think creatively and be innovative in the area of problem solving and critical thinking skills? In addition, I am going to incorporate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) into my art lessons, and will be collaborating with the classroom teachers to coordinate various lessons in art that will reinforce what they are studying in their classroom.
PE: Mrs. Stone
I am so excited I get to encourage your kiddos to be “FIT”. I have been teaching for many years. Health and wellness is a very important part of my life and I am so grateful I was chosen to be the PE teacher at Stewart’s Creek Elementary. I would love to see all the kiddos wearing their tennis shoes on PE days because we will be running every time they come to the gym.
Library: Mrs. Fisanick
Hello parents! I am the new School Library Media Specialist. I am very excited about being here at Stewart’s Creek and I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. Please feel free to stop by after school and check out books too! September is Stewart’s Creek Month at the Colony Public Library. If your child applies for a new library card or checks out a book, they receive a free gift from the public library!
