Neenah High School Grand Opening Set for August 13 from 3-6 p.m.
Time Off is Now Recorded Hourly
As you may have noticed, your time available for leaves (e.g. sick, personal, vacation) now looks different when you log into Skyward. Hourly-paid employees may now exercise the leave that they have accrued in hourly increments.
If you are a 7.5 hour per day employee, your accrued leave will now show up as "Vacation 7.5"; 8-hour per day employees will see "Vacation 8." Instead of then seeing some number of days in your accrual, you will see your number of work days times the number of hours you work per day. Hourly employees who need to take an hour off may make their request accordingly. If you will be gone one whole day after that, you will ask for 7.5 hours if that is a full day for you. It would be 8 hours if that is your full day.
Salaried employees will also see their sick, personal and vacation time allotted as hours under the new system. As in the past, only full and half days may be exercised for salaried employees. In most cases, salaried employees (teachers, administrators, exempt staff) work 8-hour days. If you aren't feeling well, you will put in for a sick day by asking for 8 hours of leave, if you will be gone for the entire day. If you will be gone for about a half day, you will ask for 4 hours of leave.
Please call Valerie Erickson (x10109) in the HR Department if you have questions on how your leave is now appearing and how to exercise it.
