A Note From Mrs. Frankhouser

October is bullying prevention month. Our school district utilizes the OLWEUS bullying prevention program to help students understand how to prevent, stop, and report bullying. The program helps guide us in conducting class meetings and gives us tools with which to talk to children about being kind to others and standing up for each other. You can read more about the OLWEUS program here. Additionally, at LTE we do "Character Counts". Our guidance counselor, Ms. Andrus, teaches lessons that support positive character traits during guidance counseling. Our students create videos on the Six Pillars of Character which include Citizenship, Caring, Trustworthiness, Fairness, Respect and Responsibility. Additional information can be found on our district website under Health & Social programs.

Our OLWEUS anti bullying rules are below. Please take a moment and review these with your child!

1.We will not bully others.

2. We will try to help students who are bullied.

3. We will include students who are left out.

4. If we know that somebody is being bullied, we will tell an adult at school and an adult at home.

LTE's BIGGEST "Fun"draiser of the Year!

Friday, October 28 during specials classes, kids will be running!

All of the money donated to the FUN RUN goes straight to our school.

Ask friends, neighbors, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to support your child. All money donated is tax deductible. Our goal is for each and every child to raise $50 for the school, and each class to raise $500.

Where does your donated money go? PTA works very closely with the school administration to determine the best ways that we can enhance our school community, support our student education, and help our teachers implement engaging lessons. We do this through providing numerous teacher-requested mini-grants. This year we have already purchased one of the new water-bottle filling stations, a new scanner for the Art program, and approved supplies for the Garden Club. We also pay for all field trip transportation costs, fund grade level supplies and awards, support SOS and school clubs, plan community and social events (such as Kite & Car Festival and Breakfast with Dads), sponsor the Talent Show, and much more!

Please consider donating today! We have awesome prizes for the kids, and they won't want to miss out! See below for fundraising benchmarks and prizes.
