December LEVEL UPdate
#weCODE
We are thankful for you!!
In this unpredictable world we are living in, there is one thing that remains consistent - our positive LUA community! We are so thankful for you, your families, your extended families and most of all... your children! Thank you for being a part of our LUA community!
Every month there will be a drawing for Donetelli's gift cards and LUA swag! Want in on the action? Refer a family to virtually tour and enroll OR send Ms. Miller a success story and/or photo about your child's experience at LUA (miller@levelupacademy.org). If your story (no names will be used) gets posted on our social media page, your name will be entered in the monthly drawing!
We figure we all need reason to spread a little cheer right now! We hope this helps! Have a safe and meaningful break this week! See you on Zoom next Monday!

Distance Learning Process!
1. If your child will be absent and unable to attend Zoom sessions or complete work for the day, please call or email the attendance line and report your child absent.
2. All teachers will notify you if they have curriculum to pick-up! This curriculum is imperative to your child's academic growth throughout the week. Please join the other families in the pick-up line - it's a quick and easy process. As always, wear a mask and stay in your car. We will come to you!
3. If your child has tested positive for COVID and or has to quarantine, please report this to the office. The number of positive tests in our community will help us make decisions about when it is safe to move back to hybrid or in-person learning. Your communication is crucial.
4. If your child has tested positive for COVID and or has to quarantine, they may still attend distance learning classes unless they are not well enough.
5. As always, making your child's education a priority is important. Please reach out for help if difficult times for your family are becoming a barrier to learning. We are here to help!
Family Conversations
As a reminder, these are not formal conferences. These are times only for families who would like to discuss questions or concerns. Teachers will send out links to sign up for these times in the coming week.
Student-led conferences, as is tradition at LUA, will take place as scheduled on February 11 and 12. This is also when you will receive report cards.
Service Night Cancelled

LUA App
This year the app only has school-wide information. If you downloaded it last year, you may want to reinstall for the latest version. You can find the app in both iPhone and Android app stores by simply searching Level Up Academy.
Curriculum Pick-Up
Now that we are 100% distance learning, we have changed the times and days for curriculum pick-up.
Pick-up will now be offered at 8:30AM and 4:00OPM.
Spirit Wear
Show your LUA Pride! Our LUA spirit wear website offers a great selection of both adult and youth sizes. Orders will be accepted now through Friday, December 4, 2020 and arrive just in time for the Holidays! Each items gives back to LUA as our school earns a percentage of the total sales. Happy shopping and thank you for supporting LUA!!
Ms. Dandelet and Mr. Junlke's Zoom Sessions
Now that 100% of our students will be distance learning, we feel it is best to wait and see what the needs of our community will be and allow students to get into their classroom routines before offering something extra. We will let you know when these sessions start up again!
Minnesota’s COVID-19 Exposure Notification App Available Now
The State of Minnesota has launched COVIDaware MN, an app that will notify you if you’ve been near someone who tested positive for COVID-19. If you test positive, you can use the app to anonymously notify anyone you’ve been near. The voluntary, anonymous application will alert a user if another user with whom they have had close contact during the virus’ infectious period tests positive for COVID-19. Users privacy is protected. When Minnesotans download the app and allow notifications, COVIDaware MN generates a random, privacy-protecting key for a user’s phone. The app does not track individuals’ locations or their positions relative to one another.
