To kick off career & college week, start off by sharing with your students your story. Share with them what brought you to the classroom, and when those ASPIRATIONS began for you. (Please include stories about how your plans might have changed. For example, if you started off in school for a business degree, what brought you to education, etc.)

Allow your students to share, if they wish, what they would like to be when they grow up.

Begin by greeting everyone, because your students won't get a lot of sharing in this week.

Allow students to ask you questions about your University. (If you have a few spare minutes throughout the week take time to go through some more college tours.)

1. Is it important to have an aspiration, or a dream?

2. Is dreaming enough on its own?

3. What steps do we have to take to make that dream a reality?
