Counselor's Corner:
In November, our Kindergarten students are learning about personal space. I try to make this fun by describing it as the invisible bubble or shield all the way around our body that is space just for me!
Our 1st - 6th graders are learning about the leadership skills of organization & "first things first". Students learn all school papers have a home (a place where they belong)! Keeping our papers in their home is a simple way to stay organized. We are also learning that leaders do what is most important first before we do other less important activities. Ask your child about these valuable skills and how they can be practiced at home!
Outstanding Textbook Fees:
Statements were sent home this week with students that have a balance due on their Fee Account and a School Messenger was also sent to their parents/guardians. If you’ve received a Fee Statement or School Messenger, please pay your outstanding balance in full by Tuesday, November 20th. Cash, check (payable to MRE) or money order payments can be mailed, sent in with students, or made in person in the school’s main office. You may also pay using echeck/credit card by accessing E~Funds through the link on your Parent Portal, or through the office in person or by phone. *Surcharge will apply for echeck/credit card payments.
If you feel your balance due is incorrect or if you need to make payment arrangements, please contact: Jaymee Ayers, MRE Treasurer, at 765-778-3818 or jayers@smcsc.com.
Guest Speaker:
Justin Hage, a political lawyer, was a guest speaker that gave students in 6th grade a short presentation on the reasons to vote as well as highlighting some of the Indiana offices currently up in the election cycle. Students at MRE will have the opportunity to participate in a mock Election on November 6th in the MRE Media Center.
November Tech Tips:
Parents, are you struggling to find appropriate content in this digital age? Common Sense Media offers reviews and ratings for a variety of resources. Click the link to check out their list of games, tv shows, websites, etc. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/movie-lists
6th Grade Girls Basketball:
6th graders interested in trying out for the MRE teams must have an IHSAA Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation form on file with the school. The physical must be completed after May 1st of the previous school year and before the athlete may begin participation in tryouts. All the forms are available in the office or on our website. Click this link for the required forms: https://goo.gl/3ivaEh
Please get your physicals completed as soon as possible and turned into the office. Girls try-outs are Monday, November 12 through Wednesday, November 14th from 3:30 - 5:00 PM.
