Veterans Day
We were thrilled to welcome our veterans to the building this morning for our Veterans Day program! Thank you to all of our veterans, both those who were able to be with us and those who could not, for your service.
We would like to thank Mrs. Calkusic for all of her work in organizing our Veterans Day program this morning! Miss Berry and Mrs. Tarnowski did an excellent job preparing the choir. It is clear the entire student body was practicing in music class for their parts of the program, too.
Below you will find the video Mrs. Calkusic made to honor our Jackson veterans, and under that you will see the proud faces of some of our students posing with their veteran guests.
Update on Jackson Well Replacement
Jackson Families,
I would like to share another update with you regarding the emergency well replacement under way at Jackson Elementary School. At this time, the new well is fully-installed and water testing is being done to ensure the new well is ready for full-usage. Unfortunately, this has proven to be a lengthy process. I will contact you within 24 hours of the new system's final approval. In the event there are unexpected delays, I will provide another status update the Week of November 21st.
Thank you for your continued patience.
Respectfully,
Sam Marshall
Principal, Jackson Elementary School

Family Friendly Schools Survey for DSC Families
In keeping with our Core Values, Duneland School Corporation is committed to fostering partnerships to improve the quality of life in our community. One of our most important partnerships is with our families. As we strive to continue to build upon and strengthen our family partnerships, DSC is applying for renewal from the Indiana Department of Education as an IDOE “Family Friendly Schools” corporation. In doing so, we will continue to “focus on addressing students' academic, physical, emotional, and social needs while providing the needed resources and fostering the active involvement of their families through schools and the community.” (Indiana Department of Education Family Friendly Schools Handbook)
Please help us as we continue to support our students and community by completing the IDOE online survey by November 18, 2022.

Picture Retakes on November 17th
We will be hosting picture retakes on November 17th. From InterState Studios:
Students who ordered a package on original picture day but are choosing to get their picture retaken MUST bring their original picture package with them on retake day. They DO NOT need to place a new order. If they forget their package on retake day, we will take their photo & write their name down but we won’t order a new package until the old one is returned.
Art to Remember
Hi Jackson Elementary families and friends,
Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Very soon, your child will be bringing home an order form that will feature their art and individualized order code.
Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form or to search for your child's artwork. Then, have fun shopping!
The deadline to submit orders is Monday, November 14th. Ordering by the deadline will allow you to receive your items in advance of Christmas break with FREE SHIPPING directly to the school.
Thank you for your continued support of the Art to Remember program!
