Principal Message

Hello Pershing Families!

October marks a time of change and transition on campus in several ways. As the leaves turn yellow, orange and red, we are also seeing transitions happening in the classroom. Most students and staff have settled into routines, are familiar with procedures, and are beginning to dig into more challenging learning goals. As I shared with our students, now is a great time to focus in on one area we want to really target for improvement. Helping children engage in self-reflection is important to develop ownership of their goals and learning outcomes. Please ask your child to think about and share with you an area in which he or she wants to grow and improve. Conversations focused on similar topics can build confidence and a sense of control over our own outcomes.

Fall has arrived!

As the temperatures begin to drop, please know that our school does not have any heat until we stop having higher temperatures in the afternoons. Our school has a boiler and a chiller and the system will be switched to the boiler sometime in the coming months. That being said, wearing layers is helpful to help children stay comfortable for the changing conditions. Already we have acquired a full cart of lost and found jackets, masks and lunch boxes. Please label your child's items with his or her name so that if he or she leaves it on the playground, it can be quickly returned. Thank you!

Instructional Assistant Positions - Apply Now!

The five Instructional Assistant 1 positions are now open for application and close on October 10th. Please visit: to apply online. Under the direction of classroom teachers, instructional assistants provide students additional support within the classroom.
