PROJECT PROUD KNOWLEDGE FAIR!
MAY 19 @ 4:30-6:30 & MAY 20 @8:30 LIM FAMILY BREAKFAST
The Project Proud Fair is an opportunity for your child to develop a project that reflects his/her special interests and abilities. Projects can be in any of the following subjects: Math, Social Studies, Reading, Arts, Music, or Science.
All students in grades K-5 are invited to participate in this fair. All you need is permission from a parent, an idea, and some creativity!
Each participant may enter only one exhibit. Please fill out this entry form and return the entry slip by April 30th.
Students should complete projects at home. Parental guidance is permitted, but projects should be the students’ work.
Creativity is encouraged (posters, models, dioramas, interactive displays). Posters need to be able to stand up on a table.
Each project should be clearly labeled with the student's name, teacher and grade.
Projects should be brought to your classroom on the morning of May 18th unless otherwise directed and taken home after the fair on the 20th.
INTERNATIONAL WEEK FAMILY INPUT NEEDED
Take Your Child to Work Day is Thursday, April 28, 2022. This is NOT a PSSA testing date at Richland. Per the district, parents may take their child(ren) to work and it will be considered an excused absence.
If you are planning to have your child attend work with you, please complete this form and it will count as their excuse note. Also, knowing how many students will be present on the 28th helps guide instruction for the day.
Thank you, and have a fun and productive day at work!

HABITS AT HOME
"LEAD WITH BALANCE”
THIS WEEK: HABIT 7 - SHARPEN THE SAW
What does this habit look like?
I eat right, exercise, and get enough sleep. I learn in a lot of ways and in many places, not just at school. I spend time with my family and friends. I take time to find meaningful ways to help people. I balance all four parts of myself.
How can I learn more about this habit?
Please watch these videos to learn a little more about habit 7 and how to sharpen the saw.
How can we be leaders at home and practice this habit?
Discuss some ways that your child and family can sharpen your body, mind, heart, and soul.
JOIN US EVERY WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY FOR LIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS!
As part of our Leader in Me view of everything we do, students have opportunities to apply for jobs at Richland. One job is being a morning announcer. When students are "hired" they work for the entire week as a team to coordinate and read morning announcements.
Each week on Wednesday and Friday, morning announcements are live via Google Meet, and all classrooms watch live and even participate on Fit Fridays. Roles include news readers, weather reporters, special reporters, and producers who manage slides presented.
Now, parents and families can join the Google Meet too! It is the same link every Wednesday and Friday. Applying for jobs, creating clubs, and suggesting new ideas are ways that students share their voices and have ownership in their learning to support them academically, socially, and emotionally. We are happy to give you a window into our student leadership experiences.
THIS WEEK'S DAILY QUESTIONS
Below are this week's questions. We'd love you to participate!
MONDAY: No School
TUESDAY: If you had $100 to spend right now, what would you do with it?
WEDNESDAY: If you could grow up to be famous, what would you be famous for?
THURSDAY: Would you rather be a famous inventor or a famous writer?
FRIDAY: Who do you look up to and why?
RICHLAND IS LOOKING FOR SUBS
You may be able to help us! If you have a bachelor's degree, you can sub! We are asking you to please consider becoming a substitute so you can help us here at Richland. This would be a tremendous help for our school community. If you are able and willing to help, please CLICK HERE (scroll toward bottom of link) or contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about becoming a sub with ESS. Thank you!

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE ALUMINUM TAB RECYLING PROGRAM
Little things can make a big difference. You can help support the Ronald McDonald House and others affected by childhood cancer or anyone else who needs the help from the Ronald McDonald House by collecting the little tabs you pull to open soda, soup or any other aluminum cans. The funds generated from recycling these aluminum tabs help offset The Ronald McDonald House expenses. Send in your tabs to Richland.
There is a drop off spot right in front of the office.
We are donating our tabs in honor of Rhiley who is a cancer survivor.
He is a 4th grader at Richland.
