20 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School

Panthers,
Another great SHORT week is in the books at CHHS! Last night, I had the pleasure of watching 140 new members get inducted into the National Honor Society. I don't think everyone can grasp what a huge accomplishment it is to have such a large number of students qualify for such a prestigious organization that goes far beyond scholastic achievement. While this event was happening last night, our boys track team was off winning the district championship. This is a huge accomplishment, and we are proud of all the young men and women who competed. Also, over the past week, our boys and girls golf teams finished as district runner-up and will be headed to regionals. On an individual basis, Cade Deborah brought home the district champion in boys golf. Also this week, all of our band students competed in their annual concert and sight reading competition. All of our bands brought back superior ratings in the competition! We were one of only two bands in the entire region to bring back such an honor. As you can imagine, we are full of PRIDE this time of year. Enjoy a three day weekend and GO PANTHERS!!

Student Voice
I have always enjoyed the amount of different activities and opportunities that are offered to all of the students at CHHS. Not only is there a ton of electives to choose from, but there is also no shortage of clubs to join. The numerous clubs and activities at our school offer endless opportunities for students to be involved in the student body, and no matter what somebody's background is, there is always somewhere that they can go to to feel safe and accepted.
One of my favorite things about CHHS is the overwhelming amount of spirit that everybody here has. The student body is supportive of all the different programs at our school; whether it is a sport or a fine art, every award earned or game won is celebrated across the school. The amount of pride our school has is especially apparent during times like football season when programs like band, cheer, and dance come together with the entire student body to support our football team.

ACCEPTED Wall
Exciting New Endeavor! CHHS PTSA is collaborating with CHHS AVID to create a space on our campus that will showcase the accomplishments of our CHHS seniors and where they have been accepted to college. It will be called an ACCEPTED Wall. The purpose of the ACCEPTED Wall is to highlight exceptional college campuses all over the United States and beyond, and to start a conversation about how and why to choose a school of higher learning.
Here is how students and parents can help:
1. We would like pennants from colleges that you visit. While you are on a tour, pick up a pennant to donate. They can be dropped at the CHHS office beginning Tuesday, January 17th .
2. When you receive acceptance confirmation and decide on a college, scan your letter and send it Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org. These will be framed and hung on the ACCEPTED Wall.
Questions? Contact Dawn Treese at dawn@treese.org
