The 5th grade team couldn't be MORE excited to WELCOME you ALL back to school this Fall! It is going to be the BEST year! Franklin is an AWESOME school filled with AWESOME 5th graders!
Please be sure to check out our monthly newsletter! This will keep you up to date on all of the academics, events, and other fun we will be having each month this year! We also hope to add pictures and highlight students and their work throughout the year as well!
Meet Mrs. Kopischke
*This is my 17th year teaching.
*My family means everything to me! My husband, Jay, is a fire fighter for the City of Mankato. We have three children. Jace is 15 and is a freshman at East HS. Mason is 11 and is a 6th grader at PWMS. Miah is a 1st grader here at Franklin.
*A food I couldn't live without is chimichangas.
*My favorite thing about teaching 5th grade is getting to know amazing kids every year who grow as leaders of our building! It is so rewarding to watch them succeed throughout their last year of elementary school!
MEET MR. NAGEL
*This is my 15th year teaching.
*My family means the world to me! I have a wonderful, beautiful, and supporting wife of 12 years and a soon to be 8 year old daughter who loves to shop and build doll houses.
*A food I couldn't live without is a pastor street taco.
*My favorite thing about teaching 5th grade is our amazing 5th grade team! We work hard to ensure all students learn and are pushed to be the best they can be. I love working with the age level as they are curious about how the world works beyond our community and are really starting to discover who they are as people.
MEET MRS. HOWK
*This is my 11th year teaching.
*My family includes my husband, Luke, who works at MSU, and our 4-year-old son, Emmitt, who will be attending preschool this fall.
*A food I couldn't live without is ice cream (especially from Mom and Pop's).
*My favorite thing about teaching fifth grade is watching students learn new things, grow as leaders, and build responsibility skills as they prepare for middle school.
