Principal's Message - Aeries Portal Setup and Data Confirmation
This week we have been hard at work finalizing class lists. A huge thanks goes out to our families for communicating their schooling plans for this year.
By now, families should have received in the mail a letter regarding Aeries, our school information database. Specifically, this letter explains how to create an Aeries portal account, and how to confirm you personal data. If you have not yet done so, we would like ALL families to go through this process. When you log into Aeries, you will be entering student contact information and providing authorizations. In doing this, you will no longer need to fill out many of the forms that traditionally go home at the beginning of the year. If you have any questions or need support getting into Aeries and working through data confirmation, please call our office at 644-2384.
As a reminder, our teachers will be reaching out to you via phone this coming Monday, August 10th to introduce themselves and to schedule a meeting. During this phone call, your teacher will be asking about your technology needs so that we can best support you during distance learning. It is our desire to meet with each and every family between Wednesday and Friday of next week during the hours of 8:30 and 3:30 pm.
Again, I am appreciative of your understanding as we work together to get this school year started in a distance learning model.
Mask Requirement Reminder
When visiting the Pinewood Campus, all adult visitors and students above third grade must wear a mask. It is strongly encouraged that younger students wear a mask as well. Thank you for being mindful of maintaining social distancing space.
Last week the district emailed out free and reduced lunch applications. If you did not receive these documents they are attached with this weekly update. It is important these are completed and returned as soon as possible. Starting Thursday, August 13th, we will be serving lunches curbside 11 am-1pm. If you do not qualify for free or reduced lunch, your child's account will be charged for these meal(s). Payments on your child's account can be coordinated through food services program or from our school website https://www.ppesd.org/Menus.. You will click on the My School Bucks link on this page for online payment.
New Additions to our School Yard
Next time you visit our site, take the time to walk out to the playground to see our new agility trail and buddy bench mural. Local artist Debra Power has spent many hours this summer on our newest additions. Currently she is working on the west side of campus creating an amazing California map. Thank you to our Parent Teacher Club for funding these projects!
