Mystery Motivator
Congratulations to our most recent Mystery Motivator. Matthew Meaden in Mrs. Hanley's 3rd grade class is our lucky winner. Matthew received a CARES t-shirt, certificate and special give.
Keep demonstrating special CARES behavior in the classroom, playground, cafeteria, hallways of Schweitzer and even on the bus and maybe you will be our next winner !!
Tuesday October 31 is our Halloween Parade @ 2:00 pm
A FEW REMINDERS:
Parents are invited to view the parade, take photos, and wave! Parents are asked to park in the far lot at Carl Sandburg. Please do NOT park in spots in front of Carl Sandburg or along Harmony Road. The parade will take place at 2:00 pm at the loop in front of Carl Sandburg. Students will exit Schweitzer and walk around the Sandburg loop twice before re-entering the building. Parents are invited to stand in the grass on the Harmony Road side where the sidewalk is and on the Sandburg sidewalk where the buses pull up on the other side of the loop.
In the event of rain, the afternoon parade will take place in the building for students and staff only.
REMEMBER:
With the ever-increasing daily theme of aggression and violence in our society, the Schweitzer staff would like to suggest that parents carefully monitor the costume choices worn by students this day. We would request that costume accessories which could be construed as weapons not be part of your child's costume choice. Save make-up, masks, and elaborate accessories for Halloween night.
In an effort to maintain a safe and secure atmosphere during our Halloween celebration, we ask the following:
- Students are not permitted to go home to get ready for the parade and are not dismissed early directly following the parade.
- No costumes may be worn to school on the bus.
In order to keep the day in proper perspective and in a secure and educational environment the above procedures are necessary. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES.............

Schweitzer Staff Professional Development
On October 13th, teachers took part in Digital Citizenship professional development with Kathryn Maguire, our district Instructional Technology Coach. In elementary buildings K-1 classrooms are now equipped with 10 iPads each and classrooms in grades 2-4 have Chromebooks available for each student. We're looking forward to integrating technology in or building to differentiate instruction, engage students, and meet the needs of our digital learners.
