Grade 5 Moving On Celebration

We are working on plans for a remote celebration of our grade 5 students; please mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 16th at 6:30 p.m. for a shared experience celebrating our students. Although we are not able to be together, we want our grade 5 students to know how proud we are of their learning and growth!

Students' personal belongings

Staff will be gathering student's personal items from classrooms and lockers, placing in bags, and labeling with student name. I will create a structured procedure for parents/caregivers to pick up these personal belongings within the week of June 8th.

Although I have not finalized the procedure I expect the assigned date and time for pick up will likely be alphabetical. This will allow a parent/caregiver with children in more than one grade to come to Lincoln one time only to gather belongings.

As we get closer to the beginning of June I will provide additional details.

I thank you for your patience as we take the necessary time to enter the building and pack while still adhering to all health and safety guidelines.

Remote Learning Check-in questionnaire

Remote learning during the school closure is challenging for students, parents, and teachers. I know from working with teachers and hearing from parents, that the remote environment is particularly challenging for our youngest learners as they have not yet developed the level of independence of older students. In addition, we are all balancing the unexpected and often incongruous demand of working from home while taking care of our families. Please continue to reachout with questions or concerns and let us know how we can be of support as you seek balance as well.

We continue to learn and implement instructional techniques and learning tools that best support the remote environment. We want to improve our practice in the immediate and very importantly we seek feedback to assist in planning for and improving remote learning should we find ourselves in this kind of learning environment in months ahead. Each elementary school is sharing a brief questionnaire with parents and caregivers seeking feedback. We will use this input to support our understanding of strengths and needs at the building level and also to assist us in district wide collaborative planning.

Thank you in advance for taking time to complete the brief questionnaire below:
