Principal Weekly Update

May 9 - 13

Big picture
As we start to look forward to the end of the school year, teachers will start planning for more field trips. Please ensure that you are checking your emails for the forms, and calling us in the office if you are having trouble accessing the field trip forms online.

Field trips are a great opportunity to create curricular outcomes outside the classroom and we want all students to participate. If you are having any issues with field trips, please reach out to your child's teacher or give the office a ring.

Moose Hide Campaign

As we journey in our work on Truth and Reconciliation, today we all participated in the Moose Hide Campaign walk. Students from K-6 had developmentally appropriate conversations in broad terms of how we can all pledge to create peaceful communities and further centered the work in the creation of medicine wheels and blankets.

Royal Pizza Fundraiser - Monday, May 16th

We hope that you'll be able to help out with our Royal Pizza Fundraiser from 5-8PM. This offer also applies to take-out orders!

Lost and Found

Starting on Monday, Ms. Terri will place all items in our Lost and Found out for display in front of the office. We will invite classes to come down to collect any missing belongings, but please encourage your child to attempt to find their personal belongings. You are also welcome to come by and see if you spot your child's items.

Help us get the word out about registration!

As we look forward to the 2022-23 school year, we are hoping that you can help us get the word out about our wonderful school. Registration is open for both programs (English and Spanish) from Kindergarten to Grade 6. You may have noticed that we have signage out again, and we'd appreciate it if you could tweet about John Paul I using @EscuelaJPIecsd, or create an Instagram and/or Facebook post, and feel free to use the picture below. Any help is appreciated to getting the word out about our great school!!!

If any families need help with the digital registration process, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Kara will gladly help out.

School Fees and Bus Pass Fess

Don't forget that school fees need to be paid as soon as possible. Bus pass fees are always due at the beginning of the month. Fees should be paid through PowerSchool, however, if you are unable to complete this, please contact Ms. Amanda in the office. She will be more than happy to walk you through the process or find an alternate form of payment.

Cobs Bread Fundraiser

If you enjoy Cobs Bread, the Harvest Pointe Location (5225 Ellerslie Rd SW) is the place to go! Anytime you make a purchase at this location and mention our school name, 5% of your order total is given back to the school. A running tally is done all year long and at the end of the school year COBS Bread will provide us with a cheque for the funds that we have raised throughout the year. A simple way to raise money for our school to help with field trips, equipment and other needs that the school has.

Spread the word to friends, family, neighbors, anyone you can think of!
