Equal Protection & Citizenship
The fourteenth amendment was passed after the thirteenth amendment abolished slavery. This amendment gives each person equally protection under the law. The fourteenth amendment was ratified on July 9, 1868, three years after slavery was abolished.
Why is it still important?
The fourteenth amendment is still important because it makes everyone equal. No one man is better than another.
