It is hard to believe this is the last Monday Message of another great school year!

I want you to know that I count it a great privilege and blessing to work with you, your children, and our wonderful staff. I am a better person because of the interactions I have with each and every one of you. I wish the best to our fifth graders as they move on to middle school—they will do great, but we will surely miss them!

Our class placement information window is open until the end of the week. If you have any information you would like to share about your child that would be helpful in placing them in a class, please fill out the form below before May 26th. See detailed information below.

If you have any lost and found items, please claim them before the last day of school. On Friday, we will be taking any leftover items to DI. We would also like to remind you to please pay your lunch balance as soon as possible. At Meadow Brook, we have over $3,200 of unpaid lunches. This incredibly high debt will be difficult for our school to pay off. If everyone could pay their balance, it would be very helpful. If you need help, please reach out and we will find a way to help you.

If you know that your student will not return to Meadow Brook in the fall, please let the office know as soon as possible or let me know via email. This will help us as we balance classes for next year.

I would like to give a special shout-out to Ms. Caldwell, who will be leaving us next year. Ms. Caldwell has been an incredible facilitator at Meadow Brook, and we will miss her, but we are so excited that she has been appointed as the principal at Canyon Elementary. We wish her the best and know she will do an incredible job there.

Class placement is a difficult task and one that I take very seriously. In order to create an optimal learning environment for all of our students, it is critical that we create balanced classes! As this year ends, teachers will meet together and divide the students into their classes for next year. The teachers do not assign teachers to these class lists but focus on balancing the classes (according to a range of student abilities, behaviors, gender, and the number of students) for the next grade level. Teacher input will be one of the most significant factors in placing students. After teachers submit these lists, I will assign teachers to classes.

If you have any information that you would like to share that would be helpful in placing them in a class, please complete this form BEFORE May 25th, and I will match your child with the teacher that can best meet their need(s). I prefer that this form does not contain a desired teacher’s name; if you feel an absolute necessity to put down a teacher’s name, please include 2 EQUAL choices of teachers that you think your child would be successful working with, and I will do my best to accommodate. Teachers on each grade level spend a great deal of time working together to best meet the needs of each student. Because of the strong teams of teachers at Meadow Brook and because of some excellent newly hired teachers, I am confident that your kids will be in good hands next year.

Cuando termine este año, los maestros se reunirán y dividirán a los estudiantes en sus clases para el próximo año. Los maestros no asignan maestros a estas listas de clases, sino que se enfocan en equilibrar las clases (de acuerdo con un rango de habilidades, comportamientos, género y número de estudiantes de los estudiantes) para el siguiente nivel de grado. * Tuesday, May 23rd: 3rd (10:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.) & 2nd (12:30-2:30 p.m.) Grade Swimming Day; 5th Grade Graduation @ 2:00 p.m. (at 3:30 all staff members will be outside by the graduation sign for those who want to take pictures with a past teacher)

* Wednesday, May 24th: 4th Grade Swimming Day (12:30-2:30 p.m.); Kickball Game for 5th grade vs. Staff @2:45

* Thursday, May 25th: Last Day of School- Early out at Noon (Students will be served lunch an hour early); Final School Assembly @9:45
