Marysville Message
Friday April 9th
Dear Marysville Families
Monday April 12th will be the start of the final quarter of the 2020-2021 school year.
I appreciate how incredibly adaptive and resilient our families and students have been. This has been a partnership like never before.
Below are Hybrid Instruction updates for this week.
- Because of the creation of new student groups for Hybrid, families and students may see multiple Seesaw classes, the original class and a new one for the Spring. This is so that the classroom teachers still have access to all of the work done so far by students. All work moving forward should be done in the new Seesaw classes.
- In person instruction is off to a great start. Thank you to everyone for maintaining all of the safety protocols and keeping students home if they have any symptoms.
- I hope that our students continuing with distance learning are settling into the new schedule as well. Please reach out to your teacher if you are needing more synchronous time throughout the day. We have a school substitute supporting distance learning interventions in the morning and afternoon.
- Starting next week we will be continuing our Marysville Lunch Bunches online. See the times below.
Quarter 3 Report Cards
Teachers are working on entering grades today, April 9th. K-5 students will receive their report cards the week of April 19th from their teacher if they are coming to the building for in-person instruction or in the mail if they are participating in comprehensive distance learning. All students in grades 6-8 will receive their report cards in the mail.
Follow up for Winter MAPS Assessment
Some items to remember
Not all students participated in testing. Parents of students who didn’t participate in either subject (Math or Reading) will not receive a report.
Students who started the test but did not submit the test (complete it) will not receive a result for that subject.
This is just one data point and is not necessarily reflective of student ability or progress.
Teachers will use this information along with many other sources of assessment data to make determination about student progress and academic abilities.
Please reach out to your classroom teacher if you would like to have more conversation about this assessment or your student's scores.
Middle School Student Hybrid Instruction begins Monday April 19th
All students and families should have received a message with the new student schedule and information.
If not please reach out to your teacher.
At this time student schedules will be difficult to change because of classroom space constraints. If you would like a change, please contact us and we will see if it is possible.
Thank you.
In advisory next week, your student will be helped by their teacher to understand their new schedule and fill in their period 2 and period 5 classes.
Advisory will be live online via Google Meet on Monday, April 12th and Tuesday, April 13th from 9:00am - 9:45am. Students will log onto their advisory class on these days to complete their new schedule.
Paper copies of this schedule worksheet will be available at Marysville outside the front door on Friday April 9th between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. if you would like to pick one up.
We will convene a virtual Zoom meeting for families on Thursday, April 15th at 5:30 p.m. to provide information and answer questions as we transition to hybrid learning.
