Principal's Note
Parents, Families, Guardians:
Week two here at Whittier was GREAT! Virtual learners - we miss you, but hope you are having a great time engaging in learning as well.
Thank you for continuing to send your child to school with a clean mask each day! I am SO VERY impressed with students and mask wearing habits! They are doing great and learning so much everyday.
Face-to-face parents - we would like 100% of our parents connected to ClassDojo. If you are not yet connected, please reach out through email (bmhart@waukesha.k12.wi.us) so I can help you get connected!
COVID Update - see below for a letter from the district outlining COVID19 school guidelines. This information will continue to be updated based on guidelines from the Department of Health Services and public health change. Please reach out with any questions.
We are honored to work with YOU and your children everyday!

Monthly Characteristic!
Respect can be many different things. Some examples:
- respectful words to others
- respect to ourselves
- respect to our family members
- respect when someone needs space
- respect to our friends
- respect to property
The picture above shows a book on the easel. We will be reading this book in all classrooms sometime this month. It's called, "We're All Wonders". This story celebrates differences. We are all different and it is our job to respect each and every difference we see and also those differences that we can't see! I encourage you to continue this discussion at home as well!
Ipads
In 2nd-5th grade, iPads will go back and forth every day. Please help your child to pack his/her ipad each day. Please help to have the ipad charged when you send it back to school as well. If they forget multiple times, they will be required to leave their ipad at school so that learning activities with the ipad can continue. Please ask if you have questions or concerns.
WHITTIER WILDCAT MASKS
Birthday Treats
If you are planning to send a birthday treat with your son or daughter, please consider this as we will be unable to serve anything that is not so packaged by a store and individually wrapped. Please ask if you have questions or concerns.

Christmas Clearing Council Application is OPEN!
The 2020 Christmas Clearing Council Client Application is available online! Though you will not be distributing paper applications on our behalf this year, we are still relying heavily on your staff to spread the word that applications are now being accepted through our website. Our online application can be found at:

Deadline to apply is Monday, Nov. 16, 2020
Masks! How-to!
What can you do to help after watching?
-Talk about wearing a mask at school with positivity
-Talk about the dos and don'ts to wearing our masks
-Know the why - it is worn to keep yourself and others safe
-Wash your child’s mask each night (gets rid of regular germs and dust that makes us sneeze!)
-Understand if a child refuses this safety procedure, he/she may be asked to move to a virtual setting
