Chatterpix - Make your photos, friends, pets or drawings talk. Take a photo, draw a line to make a mouth and record your voice and then share with your friends and family. Very creative way for students to introduce themselves.
Shadow Puppets Edu - Create videos to tell a story, explain an idea or send a personalized message. The app has a search tool to find pictures from the Library of Congress, NASA, and to find Creative Commons licensed images from Flickr. Students can also import pictures and videos from the camera roll on their iPads.
English Idioms - Learn the history and meaning of idioms. The first 23 idioms are free.

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) provides a variety of books read by the famous actors and actresses in StorylineOnline. The site also includes a downloadable activity guidebook.
AdLit - www.adLit.org - provides ELA teachers book lists, video interviews with authors and a comprehensive list of strategies for teaching reading and writing.
Rewordify- https://rewordify.com - simplifies difficult English words found in written text...students copy and past sentences, paragraphs, whole chapters or web addresses into site and the rewordified words are highlighted and a synonym appears. This site has several activities to help strengthen and build vocabulary and reading comprehension skills.
