Patriotic Observance

March 7, 1965 Civil Rights Protestors on a march from Selma to Montgomery Alabama were attacked on the Edmund Pettus Bridge by state troopers and a sheriff’s posse in what has become known as Bloody Sunday. SOURCE

AGHS Theatre Company is thrilled to announce their upcoming production of the groovy 1960's comedy, Twelfth Night. A fast-paced romantic comedy with plot twists of romance, mistaken identities and practical jokes. Performances are March 11, 12, 17, 18 , 19 at 7pm and there is a matinee on March 13 at 2pm. Tickets are $8 students / $12 general admission and are available at the Clark Center or by scanning the QR code on one of our posters. Join us for a hilarious time of live theatre!

Link Crew nominated students are invited to attend an informational meeting Wednesday, March 9th at lunch in the MPR. This club will help your freshmen next year before school starts and be on call for touring students throughout the school year. Community service hours are earned. SPEECH AND DEBATE NEWS: Lucas Havemose and Sandy Peterson qualified for State in Policy Debate. In Lincoln-Douglas, Virgil Andreasen went 2-2 (just missing the cut) and our Public-Forum team of Zoe Lodge and Paul Green picked up 2 ballots while competing against several top qualifying teams.

The Navy will be here on March 29th during 5th period to talk about the Navy-ROTC program (NROTC). Visit room 208 to find out more and to sign up for this presentation or sign up here.

Community Service Opportunities

Student help is always needed at Home Track Meets.

Our next meet is on Friday 3/11. Several other opportunities will be in March. Interested students need to sign-up in Room 309 or in Room 908.

Submitting your community service hours

The Google Form for Community Service Hours is used for the graduation requirement of 20 hours. Any hours in addition to your graduation requirement should be submitted on the Give Back 250 Google Classroom with Mr. Hurtado.

REMINDERS: STAFF: Wear your ID when on campus. Also, Continue to be diligent about proper mask wearing in the classroom. Refer any issues to grade level admin.


TEACHER PARTICIPATION: As case managers and counselors are setting up meetings with students with Fs, it is absolutely vital and expected that all teachers participate in IEP, 504 and SST meetings. It is imperative that you provide your feedback and participation...a sub can be provided if needed, just let the case manager know. Please indicate on the calendar invite why you can’t make it if you decline.
