HALLOWEEEN INFORMATION
As Halloween approaches, the students at South Elementary are excitedly preparing for a day of costumes, celebrating, and fun. The festivities will take place on Friday, October 29th. In the afternoon, students will participate in a parade, weather allowing, followed by classroom celebrations. We would like to ask your cooperation in making this day fun and safe for our students.
Your child should bring his/her costume to school to be put on shortly before the parade begins. Costumes should be appropriate for the school setting, “G” rated. Please refrain from fake weapons, scary costumes, and/or inappropriate costumes that may cause fear for children. Each student needs to be able to get dressed alone or with minimal assistance. Aerosol hair colorings and make-up should be left at home.
Weather permitting; the afternoon parade will take place along the sidewalks in the front of school beginning at 2:20 PM. We ask that parents and guests wait outside on the grass along the sidewalks anywhere in front of the building (leave the sidewalk open for the students to walk down). In the event of inclement weather, the parade will be cancelled and we will send out an email blast.
Classroom celebrations will be held immediately after the parade or from 2:45-3:20 PM. Unfortunately, we do not have room to invite parents/siblings and other guests into the classroom for this portion of the day. Only the set volunteers will be allowed in to assist.
Lastly, please note parking regulations will be enforced. Please be certain you are in a designated parking area, free from blocking driveways, fire hydrants and handicap spots. Please do not park in front of school due to end of the day dismissal.
Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to celebrating the traditions of the fall season and providing our students with fun and great memories.
