TYWLS Summer News
A Message From Principal Persad, Week of August 3rd
August Update No. 1
Dear TYWLS Students and Families,
Thank you for your continued partnership. I hope you have found time to rest and relax this summer. Last week, we met to review the blended learning and offered a series of program models that schools will use in the fall. We want our families to be actively engaged in the planning process, and commit to providing you with timely information so that you can feel confident about your decision-making as we make plans for fall 2020.
We are about one month away from school's re-opening and this week (by August 7th) families have to make your decision on REMOTE LEARNING or OUR HYBRID MODEL. Do note, families will have structured dates during the school year to OPT back in or OUT of virtual learning/in school learning.
*All decisions at this point are still tentative and may change at the discretion of the Governor and Mayor, based on guidelines from CDC.
In an effort to meet our 3C approach (Care, Communication, Clarity) during this time, we continue to share guidance, resources and articles---so as a parent you can make the most INFORMED and SAFEST decision for your child. There are no "RIGHT" choices here, there is only what's best for your child.

School Re-Opening Updates!
*We will host an AUGUST FAMILY/Student TOWN HALL LIVE Stream Event later this month (DATES and LINKS to come!)
*All guidance on re-opening will come directly from our Chancellor and Mayor. All information is always "tentative" and will depend on the guidance from CDC, health officials, etc. With all changes, we will update you as we learn more!

School Year 2020-2021
This fall, your child’s school will offer a combination of in-person and remote learning. You can choose from two options:
Changing Preferences
- If you chose 100% Remote Learning but want to change your child’s preference back to Blended Learning, complete this form again by August 7.
- After August 7, any family who chose 100% Remote Learning will have the option to change back to Blended Learning at a few specific times during the school year.
