We Are BACK!
Dear Amesbury Families,
This has been a total community effort. I am very appreciative of the efforts of our school community - from students, to families, to our APS staff, to our School Committee, and to the Amesbury community as a whole. The past year has been an incredibly challenging one, but we have definitely turned the corner. The Governor's announcement yesterday further indicates that we are moving towards a more normal time and experience. With that being said, we still need to ensure that we are all following our protocols. We will continue to expect students and staff to wear masks when in the building unless they are eating and six feet away. Hand sanitizer and social distancing expectations are still in effect. We also ask that you continue to adhere to the travel advisory expectations even though they are just an advisory. Additionally, please continue to monitor your child(ren) for symptoms and keep them home and contact the school nurse if they are presenting with any symptoms.
As you know, individuals 16 years old and older are eligible to be vaccinated. I have included a link (below) to this Saturday's clinic for those who would like to register their child.
As a reminder, if you are looking to change your child(ren)'s learning model for this year, you must notify the principal of the school no later than 3 pm on Wednesday, May 5th. This is the final opportunity for students at all grade levels to return to in-person learning. Those who opt to make the change, will begin in-person learning on Monday, May 17, 2021.
Thank you,
Elizabeth McAndrews
Acting Superintendent
