Please attend the BCS Light Fair on March 23, the same evening as the Music in our Schools concerts. Science students in grades 7-12 have been busy researching the concept of light and its impact in their particular subject area. Other subject areas are getting involved, too. Look for artwork, photography, poetry, music selections and more, all celebrating light's beauty and usefulness in all its forms. These research projects will be on display in the PAC foyer during the day on Wednesday, March 23, and again in the evening beginning at 5 p.m. We'll have scavenger hunts and door prizes ... fun for the whole family!
Ours is one of only a few school districts that have signed on to be part of the International Year of LIght exhibition, a global initiative adopted by the United Nations to raise awareness of how optical technologies promote sustainable development and provide solutions to worldwide challenges in energy, education, agriculture, communications and health. IYL materials will be on display alongside our students' work. (Special thanks to the Teacher Resource Center for producing these high-quality materials.)
