Tēnā koutou katoa! Greetings everyone!
Among the hustle and bustle of the busyness within our kura are a group of loving, gifted, diligent, and everso hardworking individuals who do so much mahi to serve our kura whānau - the teachers, students, their families, our community and many more people. Our Support Staff team is absolutely amazing. We are very blessed to have such a beautiful team who serve faithfully in our school.
This week we are celebrating ‘Support Staff Week’ and today we honoured them with a shared morning tea, some gifts and words of gratitude, encouragement, and appreciation. Our team of Support Staff are simply the best. They are incredible individuals who add a beautiful element of aroha and care to our school. They do the little extras which make a significant impact on the overall running of our school. Thank you for always going the extra mile, we appreciate everything you all do - both seen and unseen.
The core business of our school is Christian education. Our special character allows us to deliver a unique curriculum derived from biblical principles. Our school’s mission, vision and values define who we are and what we are about.
Our school mission is:
To be a Christian School that partners with whanau to grow young people who know who they are, whose they are and what they are called to do
Our school school vision is:
Grow Godly young people who will have a lasting impact in our community and beyond
Our school values are:
Faith, excellence, whanaungatanga
Our school value of excellence focuses on “the quality of excelling, or of being the very best at something.” We know excellence will look different in different contexts or settings, for different people or different occasions. Excellence looks different in Primary than it does in Secondary. What doesn’t look different is the effort and attitude applied to achieve excellence.
At Kaitaia Abundant Life School we have an expectation that our students will demonstrate excellence everyday, everywhere and in every way. Whether it be in their behaviour or attitude, presenting themselves in a respectful manner, communicating in honourable ways, having a willingness to serve others, or participating in sports, cultural or social events. There are many opportunities daily where excellence can be practiced and displayed, within our school environment and out in the community. It should be obvious by our actions that we belong to Christ.
Blessings,
Mrs. Tina Takimoana
Acting Principal
Verse for the week:
“But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you—see that you excel in this act of grace also.”
2 Corinthians 8:7 ESV
