Attendance Matters at All Ages: 6th-8th Grade Beats out K-5 on March Attendance!
Every month we celebrate attendance for students by grade level, and have special drawing for perfect attendance students. Students have received Texas Legend tickets, Hula Hut passes, and 15 Lobo Loot Gift Cards for our Lobo Loot store! As the year continues, please be aware of school dates. Every day at school is a good day to learn. As a campus we were at 96.85% shy of our goal, an increase from last month of about 0.30! We are striving for 98% attendance. We are funded at a public school in part by our daily attendance. This is not limited to only whole days, but students missing parts of days by arriving late to school or leaving early can accumulate time that leads to possible truancy. Schools can also lose state distinctions if attendance is low. Let's wash hands, get rest, and be at school! Shout out to 4th grade and (for the second month in a row) 8th grade!!! Way to be here!

Financial Literacy in Action: It's Never too Early to Learn to Manage Money!
Career Portals kicks off financial literacy month with a workshop facilitated by InTouch Credit Union. Students learned from InTouch Credit Union's Little Elm branch Manager and Senior Community & Business Development Representative how to protect their credit as they get older and how to make wise financial decisions. They also had the opportunity to explore the difference between debit and credit cards.
InTouch Credit Unit will be on campus throughout the month of April. Their next visit will be on Wednesday, April 12th from 7:35 am to 8:05 am where they will be kicking off their CU@ School program at Prestwick. Students and Staff will be able to open accounts and become members while in school and on campus. Financial literacy information will also be shared on those days.
Staff Spotlight
Greeting Lobos! PSA is excited to introduce and welcome 8th Grade ELAR teacher, Mrs. Andrea Diaz. This is Mrs. Diaz’s first year at PSA, but 16th year teaching English Language Arts. Mrs. Diaz was born in College Station, Texas into an Aggie family but grew up in Harlingen, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana. Mrs. Diaz graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in writing. Ax’em Jacks!
Mrs. Diaz’s educational goal is to impact kids in a positive, purposeful way and share her love of literature with the hopes that it becomes contagious! Teaching ELAR allows Mrs. Diaz to combine two of her favorite things: kids and words! “I love finding fresh ways of keeping kids interested in the written word. I live for seeing that little light that comes on when kids get it.”
In Mrs. Diaz’s free time she likes to read, garden, and bake. Something interesting about Mrs. Diaz, is that she has a home bakery and LOVES to bake cupcakes, breads and sweets for people’s special celebrations. Someday when Mrs. Diaz retires, she plans to have a cupcake food truck.
Additionally, Mrs. Diaz loves spending time with her family. Mrs. Diaz is married to husband Everett and have six children with age ranging from college to an one year old. PSA is proud to have Mrs. Diaz apart of the PSA family.
