State Report Card - Coming Out Thursday!

The State Report Cards are slated to be shared with the public on Thursday.

GME received 4/5 stars in Gap Closing

The Gap Closing component shows how well schools are meeting the performance expectations for students in English language arts, math, and graduation. It also measures how schools are doing in supporting English learners to increase language proficiency, reducing chronic absenteeism for all students, and identifying gifted students and providing gifted services

GME received 3/5 stars in Progress Component

The Progress Component looks closely at the growth all students are making based on their past state test performances. The Progress Component measures the academic performance of students compared to expected growth on Ohio’s State Tests.

GME received 2/5 stars in Early Literacy Component

The Early Literacy Component measure uses two consecutive years’ data to evaluate how well schools and districts are doing at providing the supports needed to help struggling readers become on track with their reading.

GME received 1/5 stars in Achievement Component

The Achievement Component reports the percentage of students who take a test and earn a performance level of proficient or higher.

As you can see, we have some work to do! I am confident that our LSDMC, ILT and staff will work together to develop and implement a strategic plan to better support the success of our children! I look forward to celebrating our successes with all of you at the end of this school year! Onward & Upward!

3rd Grade Families - IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION - 3rd Grade Ohio State Test

All 3rd graders will take the Fall Ohio State Test the week of October 24th.

The 3rd graders recently took the English Language Arts MAP Test. MAP test results have been linked to the projected scores on the Ohio State Test in English Language Arts.

Today, I am sending home a MAP Family Report with each 3rd grader.

This report will tell you what your child scored, their percentile, and their projected category on the Ohio State Test, Spring 2023.

The "cut-score" or the score needed to be considered "on-track" for the Fall was 181.

(Look at your child's score and compare it to 181.)

The percentile which denotes "on-track to be proficient on the Ohio State Test" is 55th percentile. (Look at your child's percentile and compare it to 55th percentile.)

Ohio State Test Scores range from Limited to Basic to Proficient to Accelerated to Advanced

(Look at your child's PROJECTION category for the Ohio State Test, Spring 2023. Proficient, Accelerated or Advanced is where they need to be!)

Carefully review the questions you can ask your child's teacher to help your child be as successful as possible!

There are also helpful websites noted at the bottom of the letter as well!

Please reach out if you have any questions!
