Two Rivers Reading Council
Fall Newsletter
Happy Fall to Everyone!!
I hope this newsletter finds you all settled into the routine of a new school year. I am not sure if it is just me or if everyone else feels the same way, but time seems to be moving very quickly. When you receive this, it will be November already!! One of the highlights of the year so far has been my recent trip to the Illinois Reading Council. There were so many wonderful authors and speakers. It was a fantastic conference. It is one of those conferences that everyone educator who has a passion for reading needs to attend at least once!!!
Our next Two Rivers Event is our Family Reading Night Friday, November 3 at the Olivet Planetarium. There will be two shows, one at 5:30 and one at 7:00. Bring your family for a fun evening. In addition to the show, you will receive a goodie bag and a treat. Cost is $3. Watch your e-mail for upcoming events.
I’ll leave you with a poem (which I hope brings you a chuckle) from Kenn Nesbitt one of the author’s who spoke at the conference
The Tighty Whitey Spider
The tighty whitey spider went down the water slide.
Got a water wedgy halfway down the slide.
Jumped up and screamed and ran around in pain.
Now the tighty whitey spider won’t do that again!
