Student Safety and Crossing
Mr. Greg was a wonderful man who loved our children. He greeted them with a smile and kind words each and every day. Due to the volume of traffic and demands of this intersection, Mr. Greg was reassigned to a different location. On behalf of the Holmes Community, we thank Mr. Greg for his years of dedicated service.
To help make this intersection safer, we need your help. Do not drop your children off in the middle of the street. This includes both Chicago Avenue and Kenilworth. This is extremely dangerous and cars turning and passing do not expect to see students exiting cars in the middle of the street.
Do not leave your cars on Chicago Avenue to walk your students or to watch them walk to the blacktop. This holds up traffic and causes unsafe situations with parents trying to get around other cars. When you drop off students pull all the way up, have the student exit and pull away safely.
Texting or being on the phone in a school zone is illegal. Please be sure to keep your eyes on the road and our children safe.
We all need to support each other and practice patience when dropping off children in the morning. We want all children and families to be safe, please help ensure this happens.
