May/June Character Trait - Courage
English Language Arts
In reading we've been working on a Tall Tales unit. We've been looking at character traits of our Tall Tale characters, we've been watching for hyperbole (extreme exaggeration) in our Tall Tales, we've compared a Tall Tale text to a cartoon version of the Tall Tale, and now we're going to be writing our own Tall Tales and then acting them out.
We also just finished a Fraction tic-tac-toe project. Students presented on Thursday and Friday of last week and we will have a few presentations today to hopefully finish them up.
Fraction to Decimal Video
One video for the project was about how to convert fractions to decimals.
These boys made a fraction rectangle of equivalent fractions. You can also see a fraction board game being created next to them.
Fraction Crossword Puzzle
Some chose to make crossword puzzles of fraction and decimal terms.
