Junior/Senior High

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, eighteen of Montello's finest sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math students competed in the Adams-Friendship Middle School Math Invitational at the Adams Community Center. This math competition was a team event, but consisted of both individual and group components. We competed against teams from Adams-Friendship, Mauston, Wautoma, and Berlin. Our students began by taking three separate six minute tests, then a forty minute individual test (where no calculators were allowed), and finished up with a 20 minute group test. In our first year in the competition, we did not place, but gained valuable experience in a competitive mathematics environment. This year's sixth grade team consisted of: Abigail Madsen, Nathan Barganz, Emma Fluette, Landen Tollefson, Ivan Goldsmith, and Cole Steege. This year's seventh grade team consisted of: Abigail Bond, Aidan Bledsoe, Payton Hickman, Damyeon Ellison, Owen Urbaniak, and Tia Teichmiller. This year's eighth grade team consisted of: Abe Postler, Emily Olson, Hayley Smith, Memphis Chambers, Mansi Shah, and Rachel Roidt.

School Garden Work!

Yesterday, High Marq braved the cold spring temperature and rain to complete their mission of planting our garden! Field teams were lead by the garden group in a variety of tasks and accomplished a lot in the morning! Students were busy tilling our plots at the garden space, preparing and filling our raised beds, transplanting veggies and flowers from O'Malley & Foss Greenhouse, complete row planting on our large plot, and planted trees donated from the Columbia County Tree Sale! It will be great to see the garden in full bloom this summer and we hope our little seeds produce some yummy treats to enjoy this summer!

In the afternoon, half the school continued work on the garden and the other continued work for the oak savannah restoration with the DNR. Next week, we will be planting the trees! Enjoy the photos of fun in the dirt!
