From Your Pastors
Dear Zion family –
The Spring Sausage Sale is here! If you put in an order, you may pick it up this Sunday any time from 9 am to 1 pm. When you do, please make sure you thank all our youth and adult volunteers who worked hard this weekend to prepare it for you.
Lenten Midweek Services
Last Wednesday began the season of Lent. Each Wednesday at 6:30 pm through March 29, we will be holding devotional services in our beautiful sanctuary. These will be short and last only around 30 minutes. At the end of your day, come and join us to pray, reflect, and worship.
Voters’ Meeting
Our regularly scheduled Voters’ Meeting will be this Sunday at 1 pm in the Worship Center. We’ll share in a time of fellowship and food right before the meeting and right after the 10:45 am service. Childcare will be available in the gym. We have some important items to discuss, so please join us as we move forward in ministry together at Zion.
Handbell Choir
Are you looking for a way to use your gifts to honor God in worship? We’d love to have you be a part of our handbell choir. No experience is required, and rehearsals will begin this Sunday at 10:30 am upstairs in the sanctuary. If you’re interested in joining in, text or call Michael Teinert at 512–591-6819.
Message Series
This weekend, we kick off another installment of a series we began in January called “The Power of the Name of Jesus.” In the message, we’ll look at the name “I AM.” Jesus uses this name to describe Himself in John 8:51-58:
“Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys My word will never see death.” At this the Jews exclaimed, “Now we know that You are demon-possessed! Abraham died and so did the prophets, yet You say that whoever obeys Your word will never taste death. Are You greater than our father Abraham? He died, and so did the
prophets. Who do You think You are?” Jesus replied, “If I glorify Myself, My glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies Me. Though you do not know Him, I know Him. If I said I did not, I would be a liar like you, but I do know Him and obey His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing My day; he saw it and was glad.” “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to Him, “and You have seen Abraham!” “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!”
Join us for worship and find out more about this name and what it means to us and for us. We’ll see you Sunday at 8 or 10:45 am, or online at zionwalburg.org.
Your pastors love you!

Hebrews Bible Class
Beginning, Sunday, 02/05/23, the Sunday Morning Bible Study Class is taking a break from Martin Luther's Catechism to study and observe the grace of God, through Jesus, set forth in the New Testament book of Hebrews.
The letter to the Hebrews presents Jesus, the Son of God, as the true fulfillment of all Old Testament prophecies. Christians are encouraged to look only to Him as the LORD: the All-Sufficient, Majestic and Sovereign One!
Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in Zion's Parlor and share the insights of the revealed and glorified Christ as recorded in Hebrews. Study Guides will be available. (If you wish to offset the costs of the guides, you may give a donation to Zion's Business Manager, Steve Cashio, earmarked - "Hebrews Study Guide.)

The costs are estimated to be around $180,000. Therefore, the Landscape Improvement Fund will be created as a new church dedicated account to help fund these efforts. Please prayerfully consider donating to the Landscape Improvement Fund to help cover these costs to beautify Zion’s campus.
The Lutheran Hour
Sharing the Love of Jesus with Daily Devotions
LHM's Daily Devotions are a great way to help strengthen your faith journey. Available through a variety of platforms, our devotions can be read or heard online at lhm.org/dailydevotions, delivered right to your inbox, accessed on our FREE mobile app, or listened to as a podcast with Spotify, iHeart Radio, Alexa, or Google Home. In addition, seasonal devotions for Advent and Lent are available in both English and Spanish and are perfect for personal reflection or to share with family, friends, and congregations. These seasonal meditations will help prepare you to celebrate the true meaning of these seasons.
About 6 years ago, a lady named Darlene realized that one of her best friends, another lady named Darlene, didn't have access to a computer to receive the devotions, so she thought of a way that she could share them with her. Every day around 9 a.m., Darlene calls her friend. "I turn up the volume on my computer and put my phone right there, and we listen to the devotions together."After listening to the devotions, they discuss their thoughts on the message. "i\If we miss a day, we'll do 2 devotions the next day," she says. "The speakers are all great, and I like having a short sermon with a prayer every day."
