EC Update
News for the week of Friday, November 9th
Ding Dong Merrily
I visited the Galtres Centre this week and they are really looking forward to having us along. One thing we need to do is organise a small front of house team to act as stewards at the start, during the interval and at the end of the performance. They have posters up now and Anna's finalising an A5 flyer.
Ticket Sales - we have a slow start to ticket sales at the NCEM so we really need to make sure we do everything we can to sell tickets for this and for anyone who can't make it along on the 4th we have the opportunity to persuade them to consider a trip to the Galtres Centre on Tuesday December 18th. Both venues will have licensed bars - not of interest to drivers.
Christmas Crackers
Ticket Sales - we have a good start for Sheriff Hutton (Saturday 24th November), with 20% sales already, so if you are intending to come along, and I hope you are, make sure you give Moizie a call on 01347 878 117 and get your tickets booked. There are one or two tickets left for the performance at The Black Lion (Sunday 2nd December) - contact Richard on 01845 574 302.
Promotion Event
Wednesday, Nov 14, 2012, 07:30 PM
thomas's of york pub, Museum Street, York, United Kingdom
St. Crux
Both dates work well as promotion opportunities for our shows next year.
In February it will be a good time to be promoting Me and My Girl - perhaps we can have some of our helpers dressed as Pearly Kings and Queens? It is also a good time of year as people often clear out their books, videos and bric-a-brac after Christmas so hopefully we can get some good stock for our stalls.
The November date is close to the show week but again we can use this to our advantage promoting last minute ticket sales.
I am currently preparing a members' e-flyer to announce these dates and more importantly get people to start thinking about collecting stock and also about how they can help, both in advance and on-the-day.
As agreed at the EC we need to form a sub-committee to plan and execute these important events (not only members of EC). If you are willing to be a member of the organising committee please let me know.
Miss Saigon - Sat. March 2nd
As we want to support young local performers I am going to book a YMTC trip to see the show's final performance at 7.30pm on Saturday March 2nd. If you are interested in coming along please let me know (and how many tickets £14 each) as soon as possible as the show is on sale to the general public now so I need to book soon to get good seats.
Oliver! - Sat. March 16th
I need to have numbers by Wednesday November 14th so please let me know (and how many tickets) if you want to come along as part of the group (payment by February 14th).
Joseph Rowntree Theatre
This has been the Gang Show week but they have advised the JRTheatre they do not want this week in 2013 so it's available to us and gives us a full six week floor rehearsal period following Paul's return from Scarborough in September.
As you know Richard is working with a small group to bring forward proposals for this and other future shows - he will be reporting back at the next EC meeting on January 7th.
