Gator Greetings
Wow! It was a fun and busy week at Allisonville. We started the week with a guest author visit for grades K-2. The students sang, danced, and learned sign language while enjoying author Debbie Clement. 4th Grade went to Conner Prairie and it was a great day. 3rd Grade had their annual Book Character Pumpkin Contest on Thursday, and the winners were highlighted on morning announcements today. Students in Grade 5 worked on community building all week with special guest Gina Naas, who led each class through a variety of team building activities. Today at Allisonville, we had a Gator Pack Dress Up Day and Gator Gathering outside with our six Gator Packs. Each pack participated in team building activities and learned their pack’s hand signal. Be sure to ask your child to share their pack’s hand signal with you!
Looking forward to next week, students will have an E-Learning Day on Tuesday, November 2. They will be bringing their devices home Monday night so they are able to access work at home on their teacher’s Canvas page. Please remember to have students bring their devices back to school on Wednesday. I have enjoyed seeing many families visit school this week for parent-teacher conferences. Conferences will continue next week with a majority on Tuesday. If you have not signed up for a conference with your child’s teacher, please do so. Our goal is 100% participation for parent-teacher conferences since we know this is such a valuable time for both family members and teachers as we work together to help our students succeed.
The district is holding an Implicit Bias Training for parents on Thursday night, November 4th from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Families are encouraged to sign up for this event to learn more about equity and inclusion. Next Saturday, November 6th, the Advancement Center’s annual Bash will be held virtually with a silent auction, trivia, games, and more. It will be a fun night to support our schools and connect with other families.
We are thrilled to announce that VIP Day is back this year for all students in grades 2-5. It will be held on November 11th by grade level, and it will be outside around the track, so VIP’s and students alike should plan to dress for the weather. Look for the flyer in the Gazette for addition information and times. Volunteers are needed for this event and can sign up using this link. We will celebrate Veteran’s Day virtually this year with a video recording of 3rd Grade and also honoring veteran family members of Allisonville students. Look for more information from Mrs. Weiger about submitting veteran names and photos.
I hope to see many of you at the Bonfire tonight! Thanks to the Dad’s Club for all their hard work to put it on despite the weather.

Virtual Veteran's Day
We are preparing for our VIRTUAL Veterans Day Celebration for November 11.
During this celebration, we would like to recognize and honor those that have served, fought, and sacrificed so much for our country. We are thankful for their service! To do this, we’d like you to send in a picture of any family member, relative, or close friend that has served in the military or is currently serving. We will be creating a slideshow with these photos and will share the link with you. (A digital copy of the form can be found at the end of the newsletter).
You may send the photo electronically attached to an email to Mrs. Weiger at pweiger@msdwt.k12.in.us with VETERANS DAY in the subject line, or you may send in this form with a photograph and we will scan and return the image.
If you would like us to include a photo of your veteran(s), please complete the information below and return it to Mrs. Weiger in the media center or send it electronically by Friday, Nov. 5, 2021.

The directory will include contact information for each student (parent/guardian name(s), home number and email). These will be listed in the directory as they are listed in Skyward. A student’s parent/guardian can choose to have their student's contact information changed or not included in the directory using the form below. Change requests should be submitted by 10/31/2021.
