SWISD Green Takes Over Annual Blue Santa Parade & Festival
The chilly temperatures did not keep participants or attendees from enjoying the Annual Blue Santa Parade and Festival held Saturday, December 11. The free family event was organized by the San Antonio Police Department South Substation SAFFE Unit, South San ISD, Southwest ISD, and the Southwest Communities in Action Coalition. The festivities began with Blue Santa arriving by helicopter at the Miller’s Pond Community Center. He then led the parade through the Indian Creek Subdivision, which concluded at Miller’s Pond Community Center with a festival. Families enjoyed delicious food, music by SWISD student groups, and games for children. Children received a new toy from Blue Santa before they left the park. Thank you to all who donated toys and helped put together this wonderful event.
