September 2022

It was a fast 2 weeks!

Wow--the first two weeks of school went really quickly! We had lots of great activities, ball games, some new building improvements, some class competitions--there are good things happening here, and I give full credit to the phenomenal staff and building principals. I know there are things I'm going to miss simply because there are so many good things going on every day, but I hope you'll take a few minutes to browse this newsletter and see what we've been up to these first couple of weeks!

The classes went all out for the hall decorating contest this week! Love that school spirit!

September's Character Trait: Flexibility

September kicks off our monthly character traits for the year 2022-2023 and the first character trait we will be focusing on is flexibility. Flexibility is the ability to adjust to change with a good attitude and have an open mind to new ideas and directions. To practice flexibility means to recognize change happens, we can't always control it, and we may need to change how we move forward. This week, Ms. Hopkins visited classrooms and taught grades 5-8 about this month's character trait, flexibility, and students were able to practice their flexible thinking skills by assigning new purposes to everyday items. Next week, she will also be visiting with our elementary students to learn about flexibility and how to be a person of character. As a reminder, we will have a new character trait each month to focus on and each quarter we will have our Pillars of Pride assembly to celebrate students who have modeled these character traits.

Our first home baseball game drew a HUGE crowd as we took on Iberia. We didn't bring home the W, but we had lots of solid hitting and fielding going on--great job Baseball Lions!
