The great schism
differences between the Eastern & Western Churches.
Patriach.
In the east, the church was called the Eastern Orthodox Church, which authoirty was led by the Patriach.
Pope.
Mean while in the west, the church was called the Roman Catholic Church & was led by the Pope.
Excommunication.
After the Split, the churches excommunicated eachother & treated eachother like rivals.
Marriage in the East.
At the Eastern Orthodox Church marriage was aloud for the priest.
Marriage in the West.
Unfortuantly for the priest at the Roman Catholic Church, marriage was forbidden.
Languages.
Services at the church in the West was spoken in Latin, where as in the East it was spoken in Greek.
