Symbaloo

We will not be renewing our subscription to Symbaloo, so the home page in the Computer Labs has been changed to our school website. If you visit http://npes.lexington1.net/ , you will see that Brenda Burkett has added a link called WEB RESOURCES (on the right of the page) - go directly to the link here: http://npes.lexington1.net/subject-area-resources/. It has LOTS of sites that were on our Symbaloo page! This is a great link to share with parents!

If there is something you would like to add, let Brenda Burkett know before June 1!

2017 Blowfish Baseball Reading Program

NPES Night with the Blowfish = June 5, 2017

Thank you, students and staff, for participating in the Lexington County Blowfish Reading Rewards Program! NPES Night with the Blowfish is June 5th at 7pm! We will be sharing our evening with LMES! Mrs. Byrd Fort will be throwing out the first pitch...you don't want to miss it! Vouchers to the game were given to classroom teachers. TEACHERS, if YOU go to the game, be sure to take your ID with you! Show it to the Blowfish folks at the gate, and you will get into the game! Hope to see you there!

"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." Seuss

A note from Ms. Burkett

It has been a pleasure working and learning with all the teachers and students at NPES! Keep using all your technology skills to integrate digital learning into your teaching. It is important to foster self-directed learners who are critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and proficient in using technology for research, collaboration, and communication! I appreciate all you do to provide our students with 21st century skills that will prepare them to be leaders and global citizens! Enjoy your summer!

A note from Mrs. Sheely

I have had a wonderful time working here for the past two and a half years. Since my official retirement in 2005 I have worked in six different schools. I enjoy making new friends and acquiring skills and ideas from the people with whom I work.

Valerie is librarian extraordinaire. The students and faculty here are beyond compare!!

Charlotte best expresses my retirement career:

“You have been my friend," replied Charlotte. "That in itself is a tremendous thing...after all, what's a life anyway? We're born, we live a little while, we die...By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.” E.B. White, Charlotte's Web

A note from Mrs. Byrd Fort

I have very much enjoyed my time as the school librarian at NPES and I will certainly miss the students, teachers, and parents! I came in with the bricks and I am sad to leave, but I am very excited to spend more time with my daughter.

I will continue to teach Children's Literature at USC and will be available for special projects, read aloud suggestions, and whatever else you might need me for! I will always be passionate about libraries, reading, and books - so, you can still come to me for assistance!

Meet Mrs. Allred!

Hello New Providence Elementaryl! I am looking forward to joining the NPE family next school year! Being the school librarian is tons of fun, and I can't wait to meet each of you and your families. Here is a little bit of information to help you get to know me. I grew up in Gaffney, South Carolina. After graduation from Gaffney High School I attended and graduated from Clemson University with a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. GO TIGERS!!!! After graduation, I married my husband, Ryan, and we moved to Dallas, Texas so Ryan could attend Dallas Theological Seminary. We spent almost 10 years in the Dallas area. While in Dallas I taught 3rd grade at Skyview Elementary in the Richardson Independent School District and I was a library media specialist at Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary in the Rockwall Independent School District. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Masters Degree in Library and Information Science and a certificate in School Librarianship. In 2003 my son, Alex was born and then in 2006 we welcomed our daughter Emily. Our family made a move back to the Palmetto State in January 2007. In 2007 I had the privilege to open a brand new school media center at India Hook Elementary in Rock Hill School District 3. I served 7 years at India Hook until we made the move to Lexington in January 2014, when I joined the staff at Deerfield Elementary here in Lexington One. When I am not at school, you will find me reading a good book, shopping, spending time on the lake, staying involved with church activities or cheering on our Clemson Tigers! I look forward to getting to meet all of you in August!
