PARA OF THE MONTH
Trisha Siebenrock is our para professional of the month. Trisha has worked with students with special needs for 7 years now. Trisha assists our students in a number of different ways. She helps support our virtual students by assisting in lessons regarding reading comprehension, social trivia, and personal banking and budgeting skills. She also works with our in person students on their purchasing skills and social awareness. Trisha is an extremely hard worker and always takes initiative in helping to plan lessons and facilitate experiences for our students to practice their functional skills. In her spare time she volunteers as the Co-Coordinator for Team Walled Lake Special Olympics, in which a number of our students participate. Trisha is set to graduate this December from Wayne State University with a degree in Special Education, with plans to enter the field of teaching. Thanks Trisha for all you do for our students!

Care Closet
Walled Lake Western High School has a Care Closet to support those students who are less fortunate. We receive generous donations including: gently used and new clothing, hair products, toiletries, coats, and shoes to assist our students who can greatly benefit. The Care Closet is currently being maintained by students in our Ault Transitions Program (W.A.V.E.S.) If you believe your child is in need, please have him/her contact one of their teachers, their counselor, or their assigned assistant principal to receive further assistance. Our Care Closet has been purposely located in a spot where students will have privacy to get what they need. If you would like to donate to our Care Closet, please bring items up to the school’s Main Office.
