Principal's Welcome
Hello DCES Cougars!
We had a great day last week eating lunch with grandparents and their grandchildren. This is definitely a tradition that I can't wait to repeat next year.
I want to thank all parents, students, and staff for making this such a great start to the school year. It feels like we have finally found our groove.
Just a reminder that next week is chock full of activities, such as the book fair, literacy night, and a musical performance by Grade 3 and our music teacher, Ms. Nicholes. Keep track of everything on our website and on social media.
Until next week, be safe and learn lots!

Attendance Matters!
As we all know, cold and flu season are upon us. We wish for all our students to stay healthy always. However, we understand there could come a time when they are not feeling too well and need to stay home. Please read the following information regarding our attendance policy. More information is also available in the Jarrell Independent School District Parent and Student Handbook under Absences/Attendance.
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education to benefit from teacher led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's, and to grow as an individual.
When a student is absent, the student must bring a note to the attendance office within three days of the absence. After three days, parent notes may not be accepted and the absences will be considered unexcused. A maximum of three (3) parent notes per semester will be accepted as excused.
