Welcome New Staff!
We would like to introduce to you three new staff members who are joining our Brookside Family. Please join me in welcoming them to our school!
Ms. Araujo
¡Hola! Ms. Araujo is so excited to be the new Spanish teacher at Brookside and Berkeley elementary schools. She was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, and moved to New Jersey in 1994. She graduated from Kean University and has 11 years of experience in public schools including teaching Spanish for 7 years. Before coming to Westwood, she was a high school teacher for six years. Ms. Araujo has two children in college who are her greatest pride and joy. Her son attends Syracuse University and her daughter attends Northeastern University. She also has a cat called Nemo!
Ms. Bellifemine
Ms. Bellifemine attended the beautiful campus of Salve Regina University in Newport, RI where she graduated with a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education. She began her teaching career in Bogota, NJ where she taught grades 4th-6th Special Education for two years. Outside of school, she is a fitness fanatic! Currently, she is working to receive her Certified Spinning Instructor license. Ms. Bellifenine also has a huge Italian family who she loves spending her extra time with on the weekends. Ms. Bellifemine is very appreciative of the support and warm welcome that the whole community of Brookside School has given her thus far.
Mrs. Dias
Mrs. Dias teaching career began in Ridgewood, teaching third and fouth grade for a bit and then 5th grade for 5 years. She took a break from teaching to raise her three children. Mrs. Dias is so excited to be back in the classroom and even more thrilled by the support and warm welcome from the whole community here at Brookside. Outside of school, Mrs. Dias is a Den Leader for Cub Scouts and takes Jiu Jitsu classes with her children.

As a parent or guardian, you are the best advocate to ensure that your child receives a quality education. Parents have a major role in encouraging academic success - here are some ways you can fill critical needs at home AND at your child's school.
