Workshop Information
- All workshops are held at Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 and begin at 4:00 p.m.
- Participants earn 3 hours of Act 48 credit.
- $15.00 Fee for registration (Free for teachers of CLIU Special Programs).

2014 Workshops
Blended Learning with Edmodo
Edmodo is designed to get students excited about learning in a familiar environment. On Edmodo, teachers can continue classroom discussions online, give polls to check for student understanding, and award badges to individual students based on performance or behavior allowing them to take learning outside of the classroom. Students can even submit assignments paperlessly via Edmodo.
Creative Commons

Do your students know about intellectual property and how to select and cite images, sound, and video they find on the web appropriately? Creative Commons is a one stop source to find resources that are licensed for free use and to learn about ways to copyright their own materials. This workshop will provide an overview of Creative Commons with plenty of time to explore.Discovery Education Streaming

Get back to the basics of Discovery Education Streaming. The Discovery Education Streaming library offers more than 100,000 learning objects aligned to standards including video segments; images; and thousands of articles, songs and hard-to-find speeches. This session will begin with the basics and move through searches, the teacher center, and other curriculum integration resources and examples.Live Binder

Piktochart
Infographics are everywhere. They improve cognition by presenting complex information visually. Learn how to create your own with Piktochart, a free web-based tool.
Gooru Learning
Gooru is the ultimate educational search engine for teachers. Gooru can help you find peer vetted content, interactive activities, and even quizzes that can be saved and assigned to students. Come to this session to learn how Gooru can help you create blended lessons for your classroom.
Edshelf
Edshelf is a free, cloud-based bookmarking system that allows you to organize and share your favorite web sites, YouTube videos, or RSS feeds (news feeds).
iCivics
iCivics is a free web-based education project designed to teach students civics and inspire them to be active participants in U.S. democracy.
