Gentle Reminder: No school for students Monday (11/22) - Friday (11/26).

Kindness

Hello Cougar Family,

I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a very warm and bountiful Thanksgiving. I am personally thankful for being part of such an amazing community and for being back at school with our students.

Being back however has not been without its challenges. Recent student behavior trends show a significant increase in some concerning behaviors unbecoming of a proud Casimir Cougar student. There has been a noticeable increase in harassment, offensive and disrespectful comments including racist and homophobic ones. This is not a localized problem. We are doing our best to reinforce this message that is embedded in our Cougar Code. As a community, we feel compelled to share this as we continue to keep appropriate and respectful student behavior as a necessary expectation of all students here at Casimir.

During the Thanksgiving break it might be a good time to have some discussions with your child about the importance of being kind, empathetic and helpful to others and how they can help reinforce a positive and respectful culture at Casimir. I appreciate your support and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thank you,

Mr. John Sweet Assistant Principal

"TikTok School Challenge"

We wanted to share an awareness of a series of highly inappropriate "TikTok School Challenges" that could get students who participate in some serious trouble at school and could even result in the involvement of the Torrance Police Department. It's encouraged to use this as an opportunity to have some good discussions with your child regarding these inappropriate TikTok challenges to help guide our kids to proactively make good choices to continuing supporting Casimir as a premier school where students continue to feel safe to learn and grow. Thank you for your support.
