Why Travis Early College Programs?
General Studies ECHS
The Travis ECHS General Studies program has existed since 2015, with more than 90 students in 7 graduating classes earning their General Studies Associate Degree. On average, 50% of students in each class have earned their Associate Degree, while the other half earned at least 12 college credits. Most of these students have been accepted to many 4-year universities and are pursuing their bachelor's degrees. Some have already completed their bachelor's degree in about 2.5 - 3 years! All ACC classes taken in the ECHS degree plan are part of the Texas college Core Curriculum and are fully transferable to any public 4-year college in the state of Texas.
Hospitality & Tourism PTECH
The Travis Hospitality & Tourism P-TECH program opened in 2021. This program builds upon our highly successful Hospitality CTE program, which has prepared students for a career in the Hospitality & Tourism industry for over 20 years. We are excited to have the support of amazing industry partners - members of the Visit Austin Foundation and the Austin Hotel & Lodging Association -- who represent the Austin tourism, hotel and restaurant industry. These partners will be offering many great opportunities for internships and other work-based learning, and they are ready to hire immediately upon high school graduation! We are the only PTECH in AISD focused on Hospitality & Tourism. The P-TECH ACC degree prepares students to be in management positions at a restaurant, hotel, travel & tourism agency, or any other hospitality-oriented business. A great variety of Hospitality jobs are waiting for you!
