HUSKY HEADLINES
Volume 1 Issue 11
From the Principal
Dear Harrison Husky families-
STEAM DAY will feature amazing learning experiences including special guests from the Dickerson Park Zoo and Wonders of Wildlife. Kudos to our staff and PTA for partnering to support opportunities like this for our Huskies!
Thank you to our PTA for creating Parties-in-a-Box to celebrate Valentine's Day! The students enjoyed the snacks and activities! If you have not joined our PTA, please consider doing so right away. Our PTA plays a very important role in the support of our students and teachers. Information can be found at the bottom of this newsletter.
If you have children ready to register for Kindergarten, please reach out to Mrs. Robin in our office! We are looking forward to meeting all of our new Huskies! Let us know how we can help you get registered to join our Harrison family!
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns! Together, we provide a safe and healthy learning experience for our children. We appreciate your partnership as we work together to finish this school year strong!
All the Best,
Shawn DeWitt
Student Update Form – Available in HAC
As we prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, we are asking each parent/guardian to verify your child’s demographic, contact information, update emergency contacts and let us know your thoughts about next year's learning mode (seated or virtual). The following document provides some helpful directions to quickly and easily log into your Home Access Center (HAC) account to complete the process.
If you have difficulty, please contact Mrs. Robin Gentry at 523-5800 .

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL Reminders:
ARRIVAL:
We are happy to welcome students into the building starting at 7:50 AM. Every learning minute counts! Please ensure your students arrive with enough time to walk into the building, pick up breakfast and walk to their classrooms, ready to learn by 8:05 AM.
Reminder: please exit all car riders from the passenger (sidewalk) side. If this does not work for your situation:
1. park in the lot and use the crosswalk or
2. wait for a staff member to come to assist
DISMISSAL:
Per SPS guidelines to ensure we keep our cohorts separated, students are dismissed from classrooms. This does slow down the dismissal process a bit. Thank you for your continued patience when picking up your children after school. Our DHE staff is teaming to make the dismissal as efficient as possible while keeping all of our Huskies safe! Your students are eager to see you at the end of the school day! Please be ready to pick students up no later than 3:05 PM.
