From the Board President...
Hello Parents,
My name is Michael Ries, and I am the President of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School Board for the 2020-2021 school year. My wife, Lauren, and I have four sons, Oliver (2nd grade), Oscar (Kindergarten), Olsen (3 years old) and Otis (4 months old). We are members at Holy Name but pre-pandemic, we regularly attended the 9AM mass at St. Clement - apologies for anyone that routinely sat towards the back of church :). Lauren, and I own an online boutique, which I am fortunate to operate on a full time basis, which has allowed me to be an active parent at SETON and all of the boys extracurricular activities.
As a Sheboygan Native and member of the SETON class of ‘97 (formerly known as Holy Name) I could never have imagined that 20 years later that my children would be attending this wonderful school as well. I have fond memories of running the halls with my friends, playing basketball in the Padre Serra tournament and being a part of the SETON community. Lauren and I are excited for our boys to have a similar experience. Not only was the faith based curriculum a deciding factor for Lauren and I to send our boys to SETON but also, what we love most about this school, is the community of families we have met. Even though we've only been a part of SETON for two years we have already made lifelong friendships with other parents and our boys as well with their children. I hope you all and your children will too make these amazing connections during your time at SETON.
Lastly I'd like to share a quick update on something the SETON School Board has already made this year! We have resurrected the Development Committee, which I am excited to be a member of, as this committee will spearhead the efforts of building relationships amongst our three northside parishes, SETON Alumni, and community resources/businesses. Along with that it will assist with securing funding for the school in the form of grants, donations and other fundraising efforts, which is a vital component to keep our amazing school AMAZING! I hope for those of you that share a passion in these areas will join me on the Development committee and help make a lasting impression at SETON.
I am looking forward to a great school year this year and getting to know more of the families. If at any time I can be of service to you and your family please do not hesitate to reach out to me. You can contact me any time at riesm@sheboyganseton.org or 920-946-3042.
Stay Healthy and God Bless,
Michael Ries
