Staffing Changes
As with any organization, there are always staffing changes. This year, Santo Nino was blessed with the presence of many new teachers. Including Janice Marco (4th grade) and Christopher Montoya. Both of them will be leaving Santo Nino and their last day will be December 21st, the last day of school for this year. Mrs. Marco will be heading back to her previous career and Mr. Montoya is heading to EMT school (he may save your life one day!). I truly cannot say enough about how much we all appreciate their being at Santo Nino. My personal gratitude towards both of them cannot be overstated! Please, when you see them, express your appreciation for the work they have done.
To make sure that in the new year, the school continues to run and we provide uninterrupted education for your students, Santo Nino was blessed to have received 2 wonderful applicants who have accepted new positions at the school.
Cynthia Luna accepted the 4th grade position and will be meeting with various teachers over the next week to get up to speed and will be working some over the break to get her classroom ready. Ms. Luna comes to Santo Nino with 38 years teaching experience, both in the classroom and in administration. Ms. Luna and Mrs. Medrano will be working together to make 4th grade an academically and spiritually strong program. Mrs. Marco will be helping quite a bit over the next several days to help the transition.
Emily Prevatt has accepted the position of Athletic Director/PE teacher. We are very excited to have Mrs. Prevatt as a part of the faculty of Santo Nino and is a current parent. She comes to us with quite a bit of experience with coaching and working with kids of all ages. Mr. Montoya will also be helping Mrs. Prevatt in her transition so that there is no interruption of the academic/athletic environment at Santo Nino.
Please welcome both with open arms! As soon as their email addresses are set up, we will forward that information to everyone so that you may contact them. Again, a huge thank you to Mrs. Marco and Mr. Montoya for their service to the school.
Christmas Spirit Dress
Yes, I know it is still Advent, but who doesn't just love dressing in Christmas Spirit. And for a whole week!
The week of December 17-21 all students (and faculty and staff) can dress in Christmas Spirit Dress (school appropriate). Please remember though, students will need to be able to wear the outfit for recess and all day in the classroom.
